# Set Source Target Data Type

This module helps us in setting the type of input file we are receiving and the type of file we are sending. 

1. Drag the Set source target data type module from BP components and drop on the right side
2. The below screen will appear

3. In Data Type In - Mention the type of file we are receiving from the sender.

Ex:- If we are receiving a tender offer from OTM. So, the data type In can be written as&#x20;

**OTM Tender Offer XML.**

And if the output we are sending as EDI 204 then the data type out can be&#x20;

**EDI 204.**

4. Click on save
